Discussion on privacy data protection and freedom of speech on social media

Speakers from the fields of Law, Communications and Cyber Security will highlight current matters of technology, justice and GDPR during a panel discussion at Frederick University, Nicosia

Frederick University is hosting an open discussion on the issue of Law and Technology, on the occasion of Dr Constantinos Kouroupis' new book publication titled "Privacy and security in light of the European Digital Agenda".

The discussion will take place on December 15 at the "Tassos Papadopoulos" Amphitheatre, Nicosia campus. The panel discussion is titled "Law and Technology: the challenges of the future".

The program

▪️ "Privacy and security in light of the European Digital Agenda" book and technology in the field of law - Giorgos Christofidis, Special Teaching Staff of the Department of Law, Vice-President of the Cyprus Bar Association
▪️ Cyber security and implementation of a digital security strategy - Antonis Antoniadis, Director of the Cyprus Digital Security Authority
▪️ Confidentiality in telecommunication data - Andreas Paschalidis, Former Judge of the Supreme Court of the Republic of Cyprus, Special Teaching Staff at the Department of Law
▪️ Freedom of expression and democracy in social media - Ivi Lambrou, Assistant Professor at the Department of Arts and Communication
▪️ Final remarks by Dr Constantinos Kouroupis, Assistant Professor at the Department of Law

Το Πανεπιστήμιο Frederick πραγματοποιεί ανοιχτή συζήτηση για το Δίκαιο στην Τεχνολογία, την ελευθερία έκφρασης στα social media, την άρση απορρήτου τηλεπικοινωνιακών δεδομένων και την Ψηφιακή Στρατηγική Ασφάλειας της Κύπρου σε μια εκδήλωση με τίτλο «Δίκαιο και Τεχνολογία: οι προκλήσεις του μέλλοντος».

Η εκδήλωση θα πραγματοποιηθεί στις 15 Δεκεμβρίου στην αίθουσα Τάσσος Παπαδόπουλος του Πανεπιστημίου, στη Λευκωσία.

Αφορμή για την εκδήλωση αποτελεί το βιβλίο του Δρα Κωνσταντίνου Κουρούπη με τίτλο “Privacy and security in light of the European Digital Agenda” που κυκλοφόρησε πρόσφατα από τις εκδόσεις της Νομικής Βιβλιοθήκης.
