
Two full Scholarships for Maritime Studies offered by MSC Shipmanagement Cyprus for the academic year 2025-26

MSC Shipmanagement Cyprus is awarding two (2) full scholarships for the entire duration of studies (4 years – 240 ECTS) in Frederick University’s undergraduate program of study BSc in Maritime Studies.
The scholarships will be awarded based on socioeconomical criteria, as well as the academic performance of candidates.
Candidates are advised to go through the terms and conditions of the scholarships, and ensure they meet the criteria before the completion and submission of the application.

SCHOLARSHIP
For the academic year 2025-2026 the following scholarships will be awarded:
• Two (2) full scholarships to new incoming undergraduate students in Frederick University’s BSc in Maritime Studies. The scholarships will cover the tuition fees of the entire program of study (4 years)
TERMS AND CONDITIONS
1. The scholarships will be awarded on the condition that the selected candidates meet the admission criteria of the program BSc in Maritime Studies.
2. Eligible applicants are individuals coming from families with a per capita family income (average income per person in a family) of up to €19,500. In calculating the per capita income, the parents and dependent children of the family are considered. (Dependent children include children under the age of 18, or above the age of 18 who are in full-time education or in mandatory military service).
3. Eligible applicants are:
• People who hold Cypriot citizenship and/or are citizens of a member state of the European Union, provided that for a period of three years, prior to the start of their studies, they have resided in Cyprus for a continuous period of at least thirty (30) months and continue to reside in Cyprus during the period of submission of their application.
• People who are not Cypriot citizens or citizens of member state of the European Union, provided that they reside permanently in Cyprus and have graduated from a Secondary School in Cyprus.
4. Only individuals who are registered or will be registered as new, first-year students in academic year 2025/26 are eligible to apply. Transfer students are not eligible to apply.
5. Scholarships are not retroactive, nor can they be combined with any other scholarship or discount offered by Frederick University.
APPLICATION SUBMISSION
1. Interested candidates are required to complete the scholarship application form.
2. The completed applications with the required documentation should be submitted electronically at adminfo@frederick.ac.cy by Monday, 1st of September 2025.
EVALUATION, SELECTION PROCEDURE, AND RESULTS
The Head of the Department of Maritime Transport and Commerce of Frederick University will conduct the preliminary screening and present candidates to the Selection Committee, which will comprise two (2) delegates from MSC who will be appointed as evaluators and one (1) independent evaluator.
Candidates from low-income families will be given priority in cases where the academic and personal evaluations of two (2) or more candidates are equivalent. The evaluation criteria will consist of 40% academic performance and 60% socio-economic background and personality.
It will be entirely at the discretion of MSC to choose which candidate will receive the scholarship, however the Head may present, if s/he deems fit, a recommendation for the candidate s/he believes would be academically more suitable.
Applications will be ranked according to a scoring system that is based on socio-economic criteria and the academic performance of the candidates in secondary education.
