Dr. Marianna Frangeskou

Short CV

Dr. Marianna Frangeskou, joined Frederick University, Cyprus in September 2023 as an Assistant Professor in the Department of Business Administration and the Department of Maritime Transport and Commerce, following six years of an academic career at Tilburg University in the Netherlands. I hold a PhD in Management from the University of Bath, an MSc in Specialized Economic Analysis (Health Economics) from the Barcelona Graduate School of Economics, and a BSc in Economics from the University of Cyprus. My teaching portfolio includes Organizational Behavior, Corporate Social Responsibility, Operations Management, and Business Ethics, and these subjects are closely interwoven with my research in healthcare operations management, service operations, CSR, and team resilience. In particular, my research on standardized processes, sustainability, and organizational behavior directly informs the way I design and deliver my courses, ensuring students are exposed to both theoretical foundations and practical applications. Beyond academia, I collaborate with hospitals in Cyprus to assist in the better management of their processes, further strengthening the practical grounding of my teaching. I also serve the scholarly community as a reviewer for journals such as BMC Health Services Research, which allows me to remain engaged with the latest developments in my field. This continuous exchange between teaching, research, and practice ensures that my students receive education that is research-led, socially relevant, and informed by real-world challenges.
