The Blue Limassol Forum (BLF) took place on Friday, 15 May, at Frederick University, Limassol, with strong participation from representatives of the maritime sector, the research and academic community, and representatives of decision-making bodies.

"For a sixth consecutive year, the Blue Limassol Forum aims to address key issues and initiatives related to the Blue Economy and Coastal Sustainability, leveraging Limassol's unique position as a leading commercial and shipping centre, as well as a major coastal city in the Mediterranean.

 On May 4, Professor George Karagiorgis and Dr. Paris Fokaides welcomed representatives of CYPIN Ltd, the official distributor of Mitsubishi Heavy Industries Thermal Systems, to the School of Engineering Lab, where the Mitsubishi AirConLab operates.

It is a great pleasure to join you at the Blue Limassol Forum 2026 and to address such a distinguished gathering of representatives from the government, academia, industry, local authorities and civil society.

The Department of Civil Engineering at Frederick University organized an educational visit to the Skouriotissa mine on Thursday, 7th of May. The area has a long history of copper mining from ancient times and is the oldest copper mine in Europe.
