Recognizing the importance of women's representation in Engineering and Technology and joining the global effort to reduce the gender gap in these fields, Frederick University is offering scholarships to all female students applying to the School of Engineering's undergraduate programs.

Scholarships covering 50% of tuition fees are offered to all female canditates who will apply to the University's following programs of study:

Computer Science

Computer Engineering

Mechanical Engineering

Automotive Engineering

Electrical Engineering

Architect Engineer

Civil Engineering 

The scholarships are valid for the first academic year with the possibility of automatic renewal based on the student's academic performance at the University.

This scholaships' scheme is the main part of a long-term campaign launched by Frederick University in 2021 with the aim to tackle the underrepresentation of women in the fields of Engineering and Technology.  

President of the University Council, ms Natassa Frederickou, explains: "According to studies, stereotypes are social norms are the main reason why girls hesitate to study Engineering and Technology, even if they excel in related subjects. Our aim is to eliminate prejudices and stereotypes and encourage more girls to choose studies and careers in these fields."

"We invest in the talent of girls and women, in their ingenuity and creativity. We are sure that they have a key role to play in finding solutions that will improve our lives. Through this campaign, we encourage them to share their own perspective and develop new ideas for a better world for us all" notes the University's Rector, Professor George Demosthenous.
